Overview

How to use this library

1. Scripture remains final authority

The Didache, Fathers, and councils are read as historical witnesses, not as replacements for Scripture. The recurring rule is simple: Scripture judges the ancient witnesses, and the ancient witnesses help illuminate early Christian practice.

2. Begin with the Didache

The foundation track walks through moral catechesis, baptism, prayer, fasting, Eucharist, teachers, leaders, discipline, and watchfulness.

3. Follow the early witnesses

Clement of Rome, Ignatius, Polycarp, Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Tertullian, Clement of Alexandria, Origen, Cyprian, Eusebius, Athanasius, and related ancient writings are organized for careful study.

4. Study privately on your device

Use the lesson reader, notes, completion checkboxes, global search, Didache explorer, glossary, resource library, timeline, and reading paths. Notes and completion marks stay in your own browser.
